Alumni Gather in Beijing with Governor, UIAA President
The University of Illinois Alumni Association President and CEO Loren R. Taylor joined 80 University alumni at a luncheon in Beijing, China for alumni and friends to meet Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn
On Tueday, September 20, the University of Illinois Alumni Association invited 80 alumni in Beijing to a luncheon with Illinois Governor Patrick Quinn. SINOMACH, the China National Machinery Industry Corporation hosted the event in their offices located in the Haidan District of Beijing, People's Republic of China.
Bo Zhang, MS ’92 ENG, PHD ’99 ENG, the Chairman and CEO, American Electronic Products, was instrumental in putting together the luncheon and the group of alumni and friends who participated. Bo is a Member of the Board of Directors for the University of Illinois Alumni Association.
Below are some photos taken at the event that was part of the Governor's trade mission to China that included UI Urbana Chancellor Bob Easter as well. The goal of the mission was to improve opportunities for businesses of Illinois in China, particularly in areas of agriculture. The mission included industry leaders from companies that actively do business currently in China.
