Illinois hires new dean for College of Engineering
The head of one of the most prestigious engineering departments at the University of Illinois will be the next dean of the UI College of Engineering.
Andreas Cangellaris, head of the department of electrical and computer engineering, was named Thursday as the successor to Ilesanmi Adesida, who is now provost of the campus.
Cangellaris will be interim dean designate until trustees meet July 24 in Chicago.
Pending approval by the board, Cangellaris will then serve as interim dean before becoming dean when the academic year begins on Aug. 16.
